Create a Form

Browse the Internet and you will see Web pages that contain areas that request reader feedback, let you place a product order, or select items from a list. These areas are called Forms. Forms are used to create fields for gathering information. The information gathered from a form is then sent to an Internet or your company's intranet CGI (Common Gateway Interface) script.

To create a form:

  1. Click on the New Form button on the Forms Toolbar.
Or, access the Insert menu and select New Form from the Form sub menu.
The Form Properties box is displayed
    .

  2. In the Form Properties box choose:
    1. Method:
      Select Post or Get.
Find out from your CGI programmer which method to use to send data to the CGI script on the Internet or your company's intranet server. The default is Post.
    2. Action:
Type the URL address of the CGI program associated with the form.

  3. Click OK to close the Form Properties box.
A dotted line box is displayed on the screen.
